Do You Know a Hero?

From the Napa Chamber of Commerce: Nominate your Napa heroes now for the fifth annual Community Awards in May.

Is there a better place to live and work than Napa? From world class wine and food to unparalleled hospitality venues, Napa Valley is recognized for its visitor appeal.

But it is the everyday heroes - teachers, healthcare workers, business people, community boosters and volunteers - who make Napa the kind of community people want to call home.

These are the people that “Celebrating Community,” the Napa Valley Community Awards program, will honor for the fifth straight year at the annual awards luncheon on May 24 at the .

The event is a chance to pay tribute to our everyday heroes for their outstanding leadership, contributions and achievements. 

The awards are co-sponsored by the and , but everyone who lives in Napa can play a part by nominating an outstanding “Napa Hero” in the categories of:

  • Healthcare Professional
  • Napa Valley College Student
  • Hospitality/Tourism Professional
  • Nonprofit Employee
  • Nonprofit Organization.

 Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 25, with winners announced April 8 on ’s “Today in the Wine Country” show.

Additional awards will recognize the Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Public Safety Person of the Year.

The fifth anniversary luncheon also will recognize all past winners.

“This event has become a Napa community tradition,” said Lisa Batto, CEO at Napa Chamber of Commerce. 

“We’re very excited that it has grown into such an important annual event – and an opportunity to remember what makes this such a special place to live.”
