Boho Lifestyle, a new home goods and clothing shop in downtown Napa, will have its grand opening reception on Friday, Sept 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The store, owned by Indra Fortney of California, is already open to the public at 1238 First St. in Napa.

The reception on Sept. 13 will include live music by Ashiqah Beat and local wines by Ceja Vineyards, Patz & Hall, and Picayune Cellars.

The party theme is “Divine Earth” in celebration of the harvest season. Wear your favorite god and goddess accessories and search the store for hidden clues to win prizes.

Fortney describes her new store as an eco-friendly, earth conscious, community-focused business that highlights the playful diversity and creative spirit that makes California such a special place to live.

The shop's inventory of home goods and apparel is focused on a casual, upscale bohemian feel. Fortney said she hand-selects items such as local pottery, handmade quilts, U.S.-made linen upholstery, natural soap from San Diego, cotton shirts and uniquely crafted jewelry.

Fortney previously ran a design business and store in Napa, La Vie Belle, for seven years. The store's eclectic merchandise included unique finds from England, France, Italy, and India.

In 2011, she packed up and moved with her husband to Finland where she learned to appreciate simple, modern Scandinavian design. During this time, she launched her career as an interior photographer, capturing the sophisticated yet funky style of European homes.

After three years, they returned to Napa to remodel a 1950s house, giving it a spacious new floor plan perfect for the couples’ eclectic flea market finds.

With her new business, Fortney said she aims to inspire visitors to refresh their homes and bring a playful, creative energy into their lives.
