Bites Nearby: Villa Corona

Still hot after all these years, this Napa favorite lives up to its stellar reputation

Villa Corona- If you’re craving Mexican food, you’re in the right place. Villa Corona has been an icon in Napa since 1972, when the family business was started by Ismael and Guillermina Villsenor as “Villa Azteca”. They later changed the name to Villa Corona, a marriage between Ismael’s maiden name (Corona) and Guillermina’s last name (Villsenor).

Today, the restaurant continues to be run by family, which shows in the carefully prepared food and warm service. Villa Corona prides itself on using fresh ingredients to create authentic Mexican dishes. They offer a variety of traditional Mexican recipes and such favorites as burritos, tacos and enchiladas. All of the menu items are available for dine-in, take out and catering.

Next time you stop in, don’t be surprised if you run into someone you know—Villa Corona is one of the hottest spots in town.
