Big Rig Pulled Off Railroad Tracks By Winery Fork Lift

No injuries or damage to the railroad tracks or vehicles.

A traffic snafu on Highway 29 northbound south of Inglewood Avenue was cleared after a winery worker saw a big rig stuck on the railroad tracks and pulled it off with his fork lift.

The CHP said no one was hurt and traffic was back to normal by just after 11:30 a.m. The big rig had been reported stuck at about 11 a.m.

According to California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Anna Paulson, here's what happened:

Traffic on Highway 29 northbound was temporarily slowed this morning as onlookers observed a big rig stuck while attempting to cross over the railroad tracks just south of Inglewood Avenue.

The call came out at 11:07 a.m. of a big rig stuck on the tracks, Paulson said.

CHP units arrived on scene and immediately called for a big rig tow.  Within minutes, a winery  employee, driving a fork lift, was able to assist the rig back off the tracks.

The big rig tow was cancelled and the scene cleared by 11:37 a.m. Highway 29 northbound was not effected, outside of any traffic slowing down to look.

Railroad Police responded to the scene and confirmed there was no damage to the track.  The driver was not cited.
