2 Adults, 1 Child Escape Flaming Overturned Car

Two adults and a 4-year-old child escaped with their lives and minor to moderate injuries after the car they were riding in missed a curve, went over an embankment, overturned and burst into flames on Monticello Road Tuesday evening. Cal Fire Battalion Chief Barry Biermann said the Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Monticello Road when it lost control on a sharp curve, veered sideways, hit a curb and went over a 50-foot embankment. The passengers and driver escaped before the car burst into flames. Cal Fire Napa Capt. Jake White said the fire burned about a quarter acre of vegetation before it was extinguished by firefighters from Cal Fire and volunteer fire companies from Gordon Valley and Capel Valley. California Highway Patrol officers were also at the scene, White said.
