This is a really wonderful book, but I am not sure what the one-day-download hoopla was about: Amazon has had "Les Miserables" for free for a long time. I downloaded it myself many months ago. Maybe this particular version has fewer typos? Anyway, you can get tons of free e-books as long as you like reading older works by long-dead authors like Tolstoy, Dostoyevski, the Brontes et al. Some good companions to "Les Miserables" are "A Tale of Two Cities" (Dickens) and "The Count of Monte Cristo" (Dumas).
