"The Complete History of Comedy (Abridged)" Debuts in Napa

World premiere starts Friday at Napa Valley Playhouse.

The world premiere of "The Complete History of Comedy (abridged)” debuts starting this Friday at Napa Valley Playhouse.

The show runs Aug. 30 to Sept. 15, 2013, with performances at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays.

 A "Pay What You Can" preview will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013.

Tickets prices are: Youth (under 21) $10; Seniors, students over 21 and military $20; Adult general admission $22, and are available online at www.napavalleyplayhouse.org or by calling 707-255-5483.

 "The Complete History of Comedy (abridged)" is written and directed by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, creators of "The Complete History of America (abridged)," "The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)" and other "Complete (abridged)" stage classics.

The history runs f rom Cavemen and Commedia to Chris Rock, including tributes to everyone's favorite iconic comedians of stage and screen.

Bay Area favorites Dodds Delzell, Dan Saski and Chad Yarish serve as your "Professors of Phunny." For anyone who enjoys a good laugh, this is a required course in comedy.

Napa Valley Playhouse is in the River Park Shopping Center, at 1637 Imola Avenue in Napa. The entrance and parking are in the back of the center, behind The Golden Carrot and the Fresh and Easy Market.
