Polynesian Pop, Halloween Art and Christmas in Napa This Weekend

Looking for something to do in or around Napa this weekend? Well, here are some of our picks, and there's dozens more to choose from in our events calendar.

--- Here's something different to kick off your weekend. Friday from 6-9 p.m. you can check out Jose "Tiki Tycoon" Mendez and as they present , a Polynesian pop and Halloween art show. The evening features Bad Taste video by Brian Werle, zombies, door prizes, Shark Bites and more. Tiki attire will be admired. Be chilled and thrilled to the exotic art stylings of Joe Leonard of Monkey Wrench Tattoo; Cat Pettus of Kat Attack photography; cartoonist, illustrator and sculptor, Kelly Doren;
Donovan Kinyon of Garage Ink tattoo; pinstripe artist Kyle Martin and paintings by Ray "Zero Tiki" Lawrason. Wildcat Clothing is at 1210 First St. in Napa.

--- Head out to on Saturday to see a performance of . The show's final run is Saturday so go now or you're all outta luck to catch it here again. The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged) is an NVC Faculty and Friends production benefitting the college's Theater Department. It will be presented in the Studio Theater at the college's Performing Arts Center, 2277 Napa Vallejo Hwy., Napa. Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for students/seniors/military. --- In the art film , (taking place Saturday at 7 pm at the , 1711 Main St, Napa) Filmmaker Daniel Anker offers a look at the multitude of faces and personalities behind one of America's most celebrated symphonies in this documentary. For over 100 years, the Philadelphia Orchestra has been an internationally respected ensemble, performing all across the United States and around the world, but Music From the Inside Out examines the 100 individuals that make up the orchestra. The players discuss how they fell in love with music, their other creative and musical pursuits (some of the musicians perform with jazz, world music, and even bluegrass groups, while others creative visual art), the struggles and rewards of pursuing their dreams, what speaks to them creatively, and how so many people with differing temperaments can work together to create beautiful music.
