Napa Porchfest: Acoustic Duo Plays Celtic and More

Longtime Napa Valley duo John D. Kelly and Jennifer Jekel perform on Vallejo Street during Napa Porchfest, July 31 from 2 to 5 p.m.

John D. Kelly and Jennifer Jekel have been performing together in the Napa Valley since 1989, with singer Kelly playing guitar and Jekel mandolin.

Their repertoire of acoustic ethnic music includes classics of traditional folk, mainly from Ireland and the British Isles, as well as a sampling of Italian, Gypsy, Latin, and American jazz.

The duo performs July 31 from 2 to 5 p.m. on Mike and Tracy Drash’s porch at 1043 Vallejo Street.

Kelly and Jekel are two of the dozens of Napa Valley musicians volunteering their time for , a festival of live music taking place on porches in historic neighborhoods around town.
