Napa Band Deluna Gets Ready for Uptown Show Sunday: Gallery

The six-piece band Deluna plays out only a few times a year and always creates excitement. This Sunday, the Napa group opens for Stars at the Uptown Theatre. Napa Valley Patch stopped by for an early sound check on the Uptown stage.

Deluna fans, along with music lovers who haven't yet heard the band, are in for a treat Sunday when the group opens for Canadian band Stars at the Uptown Theatre.

The six members of Deluna rehearse regularly, often twice a week, and have been recording in a Redwood City studio.

But Deluna — one of the hit bands two years running at Napa Porchfest —plays in public less often than once a month, and seldom gets the chance to perform on a stage like the Uptown's, in front of a house that can seat more than 600.

To make sure they sound their best, Deluna's members accepted an invitation from Uptown front-of-house manager John Breglia for an early sound check and dress rehearsal Wednesday night (see video and photos).

Tickets to Sunday's 8 p.m. concert are $31, but Deluna fans can get a two-for-one ticket deal by using the password "Cole" at the box office.
