WE WERE HERE - Benefit Screening for Napa Valley AIDS Walk 2011

Join us when the Napa Guerilla Gay Bar and the Cameo Cinema present two benefit screenings of "We Were Here" to support the 20th Annual Napa Valley AIDS Walk. Proceeds from this year's walk support HIV/AIDS Education & Outreach provided in Napa Country by Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific

"We Were Here", a film by David Weissman, "is the first documentary to take a deep and reflective look back at the arrival and impact of AIDS ...in San Francisco. It explores how the City’s inhabitants were affected by, and how they responded to, that calamitous epidemic.

Though a San Francisco-based story, We Were Here extends beyond San Francisco and beyond AIDS itself. It speaks to our capacity as individuals to rise to the occasion, and to the incredible power of a community coming together with love, compassion, and determination."

Screening 1 takes place on Wednesday, October 12 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The film will be preceded by a "Wine & Cookie" reception (including Annie the Baker's famous SugaRainbow cookies" and wines from Winetasting.com). Admission will also include a small popcorn courtesy of the Cameo Cinema. Following the film, Director David Weissman is scheduled to appear and lead a Q&A session.

Screening 2 takes place on Friday, October 14 at 2:30 pm. While there won't be wine, cookies or a Q&A, net proceeds will also benefit the Napa Valley AIDS Walk. All seats are $10 for this special matinee performance.

Advance tickets for the October 12 performance are available at http://here.napagaybar.com
