Rising From Ashes film + wine reception

Napa Bike (Napa County Bicycle Coalition) is proud to announce an exclusive, work in progress screening of the documentary “Rising from Ashes” as the evening feature film during Napa’s Bike Fest on April 28th, 2012. Donations for the film and wine reception, sponsored by Clif Family Winery at  Velo Vino, are $25 and will be shared between Napa Bike and Team Rwanda. The film will be screened at the Copia Screening Room followed by a Q&A session with Director T.C. Johnstone and Producer Greg Kwedar.

“Rising from Ashes”, a feature length documentary from Director T.C. Johnstone and narrated by Academy Award Winner and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Forest Whitaker, is about the first Rwandan National Cycling Team and their six year journey to the Olympic games in London. The story is not about the bike. It's about second chances, how the past doesn't have to define the future, and the impossible triumph of the human spirit over one of the world's most devastating genocides.

The film will be preceded by a wine reception and an art exhibition by Kurt Wold, the famous Napa Kinetic sculptor. The band Bailsons will be performing as well.

Wine reception starts at 5pm, film starts at 6pm.
