OPENING FOR LUCAS is; ANDREW St. JAMES and he is a singer, songwriter, and poet, out of San Francisco. After Appearing on the Valencia scene in 2008, while writing for the band "littleBIGman", St. James has expanded his musical work from the realm of psychedelia into those of Folk, Alternative, and Jazz. His 17 song 2011 demo, titled "Humboldt", hinted shades of Dylan-esque, coffee shop folk. His songs, Near The Now, The Days Go By, and Free, colorfully exhibit deep themes of American reality. In April 2012, He released "Visions", more alternative, upbeat, and honed then Humboldt. Songs like Johanna, New Dolores Park Spectacle, I'm All About You, and Warning Signs, exemplify his movement toward the Alternative edge of Folk. At 17, St. James is an upcoming artist of the San Francisco scene.
It was 2005 when Lucas Ohio Pattie and his original band discovered one another while playing various clubs, bars, and coffee houses in and around San Luis Obispo, California. Soon the Shamblers were born. The band featured singer-songwriter Lucas Ohio’s powerful vocals and hard-driving, muscular, rhythmic guitar style.
Completing the original band were musicians Mike Marotto on bass and lead guitar, and Colby James on drums. The band emerged with an energetic sound topographically and sonically surprising -- a hard-edged rock fused with elements of blues, folk, pop, jazz, and country. A riveting performer delivering songs in an impassioned voice, Lucas Ohio leads a band that San Luis Obispo’s New Times declares “a new folk rock phenomenon” -- a band exceeding the sum of its parts.
