Erik Jekabson, dynamic new trumpet star from the Bay Area, brings a super swinging quintet to Napa, for “Let’s Get Lost,” a tribute celebration to Jazz Icon Chet Baker.

Chet produced an amazing number of recordings, all featuring his extraordinary playing and singing. A leading exponent of West Coast Jazz, his prolific career was cut short by drug addiction, yet he managed to create some of the finest jazz ever recorded.

Erik is an accomplished composer and a brilliant performer. His effortless technique, his lyricism, and his warm tone connect him to Chet in a rewarding way. Erik has lived and worked for years in: New Orleans - the birthplace of jazz; New York City - the cauldron of jazz; and now the Bay Area - a wellspring of jazz.

This Baker Tribute will include famous charts like Bernie’s Tune, My Funny Valentine, It Could Happen to You, and many other favorites interpreted by this fresh, talented quintet. Plus an original composition by Erik entitled “Chettie.” This is a concert not to be missed.
