It's A Grand Night For Singers - Anniversary Night

Saturday evening, November 5th, marks the anniversary and champagne celebration to start of the 17th consecutive year of IT’S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS at the Jarvis Conservatory in Napa, California!  Hosting the evening’s festivities will be pianist-composer-raconteur Richard B. Evans, who served in this capacity for the first five years of this series before he moved to New York City to pursue his work in musical theatre.  Evans now divides his time between New York and the Bay Area, so he is now regularly hosting these monthly programs once again.

IT’S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS was conceived by William and Leticia Jarvis as a showcase for vocal talent from throughout Northern California, and as a cultural contribution to the City of Napa.

The program November 5th will again feature a variety of singers and repertoire including San Francisco Opera’s Erich Stratmann, Napa natives Lisa van Stuijenberg and Rocco Ruggiero, and Diego Emir Garcia who had just graduated from high school when the series began, subsequently graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and is now a successful professional musician in his own right.

Repertoire for the evening will include the premiere of a duet from Richard B. Evans’ latest musical ENCHANTED APRIL, A Romantic Musical Comedy, that is being developed in New York; a duet composed by Evans with an Italian text by Rocco Ruggiero and Franco Pascale; one of Evans’ storied improvisations on the tune “Happy Birthday”; and the “11-o’clock-song” from Evans’ musical comedy THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING titled “You Go On,” sung by Sonoma State University alumna Christa Durand.

IT’S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS continues the first Saturday of every month at 7pm at the Jarvis Conservatory located at 1711 Main Street in historic downtown Napa.  Audience tickets are $15 and available at the box office beginning at 6pm, with doors opening for General Seating at 6:30pm. Complimentary cake and champagne served at intermission.
