“inDIYpendent culture faire 2011”

and Ehlers Madcap present “inDIYpendent culture faire 2011”, a free community event celebrating everything “do-it-yourself”(DIY). The entire 950 Pearl Street block in Downtown Napa will be encapsulated by DIY “how to” workshops, dance performances and art installations. Businesses from the block will be participating alongside local groups and individuals, accompanied by an eclectic mix of live bands, from world percussion to extreme punk metal, belly dancing, fire poi and burlesque. The event is part of Napa Valley ARTS '11, a valley-wide celebration of arts and culture.

ICF brings a community-based learning environment and resource space that can connect local groups and individuals that are actively creating a DIY culture or would like to learn and take part in it. Interactive workshops on silk screening, wheat pasting, bicycle repair, sculpture, arts and crafts and subjects related to sustainable living will be available to the public throughout the day free of charge.

Participating businesses: Bloom Creative Hair Salon and Art Gallery, Boom! Salon, Board Garden , Napa Valley Traditions, Taqueria Rosita, Bistro Bui, Fleur et Beaut é and Napa Valley Dance Center.
