DISCREPANCY: living between war and peace

More than twenty California artists will be exhibiting
new work in Napa Valley Museum’s engaging new exhibition Discrepancy: living between war and peace. Designed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the World Trade Center bombings of September 11th, the show will feature the artists’ response to the impact of three major events on daily life: the events of September 11th and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Three writers will create essays as part of the exhibit to place the work in a cultural context.

Members of Pathway Home, a residential recovery program for veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, have created masks and writings that reveal a glimpse into the powerful emotions that lie beneath their public identities.

The exhibit opens Friday, August 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
