Dia de los Muertos Altar Making Workshop

Join the Napa County Dia de los Muertos volunteer committee for an altar-making workshop hosted by local artist Juan Diaz

Celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2 in Latin America and South America, El Dia de los Muertos is a time to honor loved ones who have died and to acknowledge death as part of life. In many communities, El Dia de los Muertos has grown into a cross-cultural sharing that offers a unique partnership between and among cultures, as part of a joyful celebration.

As part of this celebration, altars, or “ofrendas,” are traditionally displayed in people’s homes and as public art to honor the spirit of someone dear who has passed away.
