“Eight Hands Afoot” Brings Piano Excitement to Napa Porchfest

Don't miss the chance to hear four pianists at two pianos, performing Beethoven and Sousa in a historic Napa Victorian home during Napa Porchfest, July 31 from 2 to 5 p.m.

They don’t play electric instruments, but Eight Hands Afoot is bound to be one of the most electrifying musical groups you’ll hear during .

Two pianos plus four pianists add up to a powerful dose of classical-music excitement, as you can see and hear from this video.

Eight Hands Afoot will perform works by Beethoven and John Philip Sousa at 2133 First Street. That's the home of lead pianist John Poole and member Juliana Inman, who is also on the board of and a key organizer of Napa Porchfest, California’s first-ever festival of music performed on porches.

Poole, who publishes his own editions of eight-hands piano works, is also the Internet coordinator for Napa Porchfest.

The Eight Hands Afoot performance runs from 2 to 5 p.m. and because the pianos are in the front room of Inman and Poole’s elegant Victorian, a pair of video monitors – one for each piano – will  allow listeners a closer look at the keyboard action.
