E-40: A Napa Winemaker?

Bay Area rapper spotted in town over the weekend.

The Napa Valley seems to draw many celebrities in stage, screen and music worlds looking for side ventures involving wine and vineyards.

Now, the rap music genre could be tossed into that mix with the local appearance over the weekend of Bay Area rapper E-40.

According to TableHopper.com, E was spotted at Fish Story in downtown Napa.

For those non 40oz beer drinkers. They can get their 40oz of wine on!
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 13, 2013 at 05:56 pm
Cool so Fish Story supports gang banging Murder Rap artists.
Antonio Gramsci March 13, 2013 at 06:41 pm
More comic gold from the "artist" formally known as "Republican Kid"!
Jeffrey Wright March 13, 2013 at 07:20 pm
If you were seen eating at Taco Bell would that mean they support half-wits ?
Belle (Orchid Lady) March 13, 2013 at 07:24 pm
You guys are cracking me up! Thanks for the comedy!
Harold Edwards March 13, 2013 at 07:30 pm
Hey R K. Last year I saw DRAKE at the French Laundry, and since you admire money so much the movie star & Rap star 50- CENT is a republican. He voted Mitt Romney for president. Maybe it's time to switch side.
Loui Loui March 13, 2013 at 08:17 pm
E-40 is from the Bay Area, Vallejo I think. Can't the man just have a meal at a restaurant without assumptions?
Scott Yeager March 13, 2013 at 08:49 pm
"If you were seen eating at Taco Bell would that mean they support half-wits?"
That made my day!
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 12:01 am
What would Half Dollars Vote have to do with this story? Also I have never heard of Drake.
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 12:07 am
I see internet has been restored to someones bedroom in there moms basement.
Julie DeSoto March 14, 2013 at 12:49 am
Michael, don't feel compelled to comment on every single article, really, if you don't have anything nice to say, well, ask your mom, she'll fill you in...
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 01:39 am
Julie you should flag any comments you feel are inappropriate, I only comment as it is. In this case I see a guy who hase made his money on gangster rap. At the end of the day that is his business.
Antonio Gramsci March 14, 2013 at 01:52 am
I agree, excellent comment. I still think "Republican Kid" is a post-modern comedian though. He's creating his own reality via Napa Patch and we are all his audience.
J March 14, 2013 at 01:56 am
U are a scary lil racist pig MICHELLE P WILSON
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 02:15 am
J Please explain how you arrived at the conclusion I am a racist. If I am to assume you are a E40 fan I better ask in ebonics. Yo my brother I gata aks ya How did you think cracka Wilson had it out for the black man?
Henri Bridges March 14, 2013 at 05:02 am
He's the big bad boogie man your mama warned you about right? You, my friend, know nothing.
Henri Bridges March 14, 2013 at 05:04 am
*their.
Learn how to spell. I only say this because you ask all illegals and immigrants to learn "English" when you yourself cannot even spell.
J March 14, 2013 at 12:13 pm
First of all cracka E was Lucky to have made it out of Napa with his life If it was up to racist scum like you he would have been Lynched in American canyon before he made it home
Bianca Hernandez March 14, 2013 at 12:49 pm
Relax, people... he's just a rapper. There's a lot of those right next door. Besides, who cares if he wants to make his own wine, its just part of his hustle. Napa needs a little diversity anyways. Something different...
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 02:33 pm
I am sure Mr Stevens had no problem getting back to the Hood, Oh wait he does not live in the hood.
vocal-de-local March 14, 2013 at 04:45 pm
And so he was spotted at Fish Story and now he's a prospective winemaker?
Anyway, let's leave celebrities alone. Ugh, they just want to visit here without being spied on. Imagine if you went out to eat and people were staring and commenting about you. I am hoping that the Napa Wine Country can be a safe haven for those who have a particular talent that's appreciated by others. Leave them alone and let them have their space.
Harry Balzonya March 14, 2013 at 07:44 pm
E-40 is a local (Vallejo born and raised) entrepreneur and distributor.
A sample of his lyrics... I throw the yola in the pot, let it simmer and bathe Add a little baking soda, make it foam like aftershave I like to serve my dope wet, cause it weigh a hella lot mo' You can smell the residue and the fumes from next do' Ughhh, turf superstar, microwaves and pickle jars Portable digital scales, custom painted muscle cars Pimpin where the razor blade? Use a safety pin What they goin fo'? Nigga what you tryin to spend? When it's a drought I just sit on my dope and wait for the prices to skyrocket and rise like real estate I got that ice cream, that candy, that girl, that white white E-40 White Gurl
Jeffrey Wright March 14, 2013 at 09:58 pm
If I were a betting man I would lay down big money that this comment was made by none other than ''Michael P Wilson'' seeing how this is the only comment ''Balzonya'' has ever made ... Stop talking to yourself Kid !!
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 14, 2013 at 10:07 pm
No not me Jeffery I only post under my real name. But that is the lyrics of the song Harry Balzonya did not pull them out of thin air. So If you want to defend the poisoning of young black minds, With tales of drug dealing grandeur that is your business.
Antonio Gramsci March 15, 2013 at 01:23 am
No one is defending E-40. We're just poking fun at your ridiculous comments which sometimes border on racism. For example:
"J Please explain how you arrived at the conclusion I am a racist. If I am to assume you are a E40 fan I better ask in ebonics. Yo my brother I gata aks ya How did you think cracka Wilson had it out for the black man?" Ebonics? Come on Republican kid...
MICHAEL P WILSON "Independent Kid" March 15, 2013 at 05:32 pm
Hey Antonio I was just making sure I was speaking Clearly to "J" He was using words like U and lil So Ebonics must be his preference. I do not recall using any race in my first comment dated 1:56 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 Please point out what comments would make me a racist. You can even use past comments if you want

Is there any way to remove the blogs from the news page? Blogs are not news. They are opinionRead More pieces, and I would like more news. thanks!
Keri Brenner (Editor) June 17, 2013 at 05:41 pm
Hi Beau and F: Yes, the &#39 are still there and not going away. I trust that tech people areRead More working on this...Sorry. And as far as the blogs being on the news stream, I can't change that except to keep the blogs mostly at the bottom and the news on top. The new platform is designed to highlight the blogs more than they were before. Occasionally if there is a timely, useful or highly newsworthy blog post I will move it up, but in general the news will be in the first 5 slots and the blog below. Hope that helps. Keri
F Otterbeck June 19, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Promoting blogs instead of news makes the Patch less useful. I liked having an alternate newsRead More source. Blogger promotion is too much like stroking the egos of local bloggers rather than promoting news and information. It seriously compromises the value of Napa Valley Patch as a news source.

Go, Jamie! I voted, all the way out here in lobsterland where I hope you and Kevin will visit someRead More day.

It is easy to judge people from a distance. All of us have up and down times in life, none of usRead More have the same internal or external supports to deal with it all. Maybe those among us who feel superior could try to take a moment or more to see life from the perspective of someone who (even from a position of pain or vulnerability) has too much pride to accept the stigma of being in need of the social translation of "the lowest of the low" homeless shelter or addiction counseling. It feels good to try lifting others up rather than tearing them down; Maybe your smile or expression of something other than disgust could make a positive difference to move a person in need toward help.

Lo! And behold! If you check today's (Friday, June 14) Fugitive page on Napa Valley Patch you willRead More see Benjamin Paz, the one and same who was arrested for being naked at the Expo.

Thank you Marlene for your story, It is a tragic and difficult life that many homeless people haveRead More to live and I always thank my god that I have been more fortunate. I would like to respectfully suggest though that you break your future comments (and I hope there are many more) into paragraphs to make them easier to read. Thank you and I hope you well.

Not the case. It's definitely on the list of stories to cover. Absolutely! Thanks for the reminder!

I'd like to show appreciation to my grandfather on Father's Day. He taught me how to cook a roast,Read More garden, work with tools, use a shotgun and appreciate our surrounding waters. Always a patient man, my grandfather showed me so much. I got scared once when I broke a tool when we were building a skateboard ramp. He just replied with, at least you know not to do that anymore. I always admired how my grandfather loves my grandmother so much. That's old, true love. Fairy tail kinda stuff. Love we all want to grow old with. I love my grandpa with all my heart.
Keri Brenner (Editor) June 17, 2013 at 06:19 pm
Hi Loui Loui: Your grandpa sounds wonderful!
Unfiltered Steve Simoneau June 13, 2013 at 10:41 am
Loui Loui, it's called false pretenses and misleading claims. While I understand it's not theRead More editor's or tech's fault, releasing a product to the public as "New with better features!" shouldn't mean that it comes with glitches, bugs and frustration. And unlike Google+ and FB, Napa Valley Patch didn't "come out", we had a NVP that was working perfectly fine and Corporate Patch decided to upgrade. Can you imagine the ether-riots if FB did an "upgrade" full of glitches and bugs"?
Unfiltered Steve Simoneau June 13, 2013 at 10:54 pm
Actually, Loui, I left FB two years ago and haven't been back since. And while Patch and FB may beRead More "free" services they rely on users to exist. It's a symbiotic relationship, so both sides must be content for it to work efficiently.
MICHAEL WILSON June 15, 2013 at 10:24 am
I am With USS on Facebook I have never Been there. I use the Patch and a few Blogs I also have myRead More own Website. Facebook has gone into the censorship business, from what many are telling me.

Why the Hispanics need their own Chambers Of Commerce is a mystery to me. Racism is the promotion ofRead More one race above others. If I supported a White/Caucasian Chamber Of Commerce I'd be labeled a bigot and racist. One Chamber Of Commerce should suffice for ALL!
Harold Edwards June 11, 2013 at 01:15 am
All the Chamber of Commerce promotes is slave labor pure & simple. It screws the worker &Read More practices unfair labor for business big and small. They are not a team player there only for the team owner!! Don't fall for there wicked ways.
