County Arts Commission Meets Today to Discuss Future

The monthly meeting of the Napa County Arts & Culture Commission takes place in St. Helena at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.

The will discuss media strategy, the state’s open meetings act and the next round of grants from county tax money this afternoon.

The commission’s open monthly meeting runs from 4 to 6 p.m. at the St. Helena Public Library, 1492 Library Lane in St. Helena.

The meeting includes the opportunity for three-minute comments from the public.

Community members are appointed to the Napa County Arts & Culture Commission by the county’s various municipalities and at large by the commission’s parent agency, the .

They are: Lee Block, City of Napa; Hugo Corro, City of American Canyon; Yvonne Henry, City of Calistoga; Diane Dame' Shepp, Napa County; Sue Wollack, City of St. Helena and T Beller, Catherine Conway Honig, Jon Lail, Margrit Biever Mondavi and Elizabeth Anne Putnam, at large.

The commission’s Yountville seat is vacant.

The stated role of the arts and culture commission is to advise the NCTPA on countwide cultural matters and act as a "liaison between the arts community, government, business and philanthropic leaders, community developers and the public at-large," according to the NCTPA website.
