Check Out Last Year's Winner from Patch's Halloween Costume Contest

A New Jersey boy's get-up was head over heels above the rest, earning him more than $1,000. This year, the prize is $5,000 - enter now!

Want to get inspired to go all out with your Halloween costume on Wednesday? Check out Jack Hagan, who dressed up as a headless boy for Halloween last year. He was selected as Patch's grand-prize winner of its nationwide contest, beating out nearly 2,700 entries from across the country.

This year, it could be you. Enter our contest for a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize!

Adults and children are eligible to enter. Parents can post costume photos of themselves and their families from this Halloween or from years past.

Here’s how to enter:

  • Go to this contest story, click the green "Upload Your Photos and Videos" button above it and upload your image (but first make sure you’re a registered Patch user signed in on the site; you can sign in via Facebook).

  • Then add a caption with the name of the person in the photo and a description of the costume. To add a caption, click “Edit Photo” after uploading the image and fill in the caption line. Then click “Finished Editing.”

The contest runs through Nov. 1. National judges will choose 21 finalists from each Patch state and select one grand prize winner based on who has the most creative and innovative costume (we've combined North Carolina & South Carolina for this contest, as well as Washington D.C. and Virginia). Each state finalist will receive $250 and one grand prize winner will receive $5,000.

If your costume is the best in California and will put all others to shame, enter our contest now for the chance to win $5,000.

That's not EVEN funny. I despise Halloween. It is meant to be a beautiful time of Harvest Fest. There was never all this demonic crap when I was growing up. SICK of it.

WOW!...what an awesome costume! It must have taken him a lot of imagination, creativity and time to put himself together. [hard to beat that one!] Belated congratulations!
