Acoustic "Sow Belly Trio" Plays Porchfest

Three guitarists and singers are bringing it all back home on Center Street during Napa Porchfest, July 31 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Vintage country and rock music, played on acoustic guitar by three pickers and singers, will ring out from the porch at 1441 Center Street during July 31.

Also performing this Wednesday evening at , the Sow Belly Trio is made up of "three hooligans that cannot be trusted as far as they can be thrown," according to the band's biography on the napaporchfest.org website.

Joe Shotwell, Dan Zepponi and Shane Soldinger became good friends while playing with a group known as the Silverado Pick-Ups before striking off on their own as the Sow Belly Trio, acccording to the bio.

And they keep it real: "no loops, no backing tracks, no frills."

Believed to be the first porch music festival in California, the event takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. July 31, when 42 bands with more than 120 musicians will be performing in historic Napa neighborhoods.
