THREE Bike Events This Weekend in Napa: Road Advisories for Saturday & Sunday

Napa County Bike Event Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 5th annual “Echelon Sonoma Napa Gran Fondo” is Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.   

The course begins and ends in Sonoma and makes a swing into western Napa County.  It enters the County on Duhig Road, then follows Las Amigas Road, Cuttings Wharf Road, Withers Avenue, Los Carneros Avenue, Old Sonoma Road, Dealy Lane, Henry Road, Buhman Avenue, Congress Valley Road and Thompson Avenue into the City of Napa on Browns Valley Road.  

It continues back into unincorporated area on Redwood Road, Mt. Veeder Road, Dry Creek Road and Oakville Grade, then reverses this course back into Sonoma County.

This event is anticipated to attract up to 1,000 participants who will be required to follow the rules of the road at all times.

Rotary Club Bike Event Saturday, April 26 8 a.m. -5 p.m. various County roads.

The 7th annual “Wine Valley Cycle for Sight/Rotary Ride for Veterans” will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There are three courses, 15 miles, 25 miles and 50 miles.  All routes begin and end at Justin-Siena High School in the City of Napa.  

Affected County roads include Solano Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Dry Creek Road and Linda Vista Avenue for the 15-mile course.  

The 25-mile course adds Yount Mill Road, Oakville Cross Road, Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll Avenue.  

The 50-mile course adds Redwood Road, Mt. Veeder Road, Oakville Grade, Rutherford Road (SR 128), and Skellenger Lane.  This event is anticipated to attract up to 1,200 participants who will be required to follow the rules of the road at all times.

The event is a fundraiser organized by the Rotary Club, with proceeds going to the Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind and to the Veterans Home in Yountville.

In addition to the ride courses, there will be a festival at the school site with wine tasting, food and entertainment.

Napa County Bike Event Sunday, April 27 8 a.m. to noon.

The “Napa Bike Fest Road Ride” is Sunday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The ride begins and ends at the Bike Fest event site, at the former COPIA parking lot in Napa.  After traveling through town, it will leave the city limits on Trancas Street.  

Other County roads include Silverado Trail, Hardman Avenue, Estee Avenue, McKinley Road, Atlas Peak Road, Westgate Drive, Hillcrest Drive, Vichy Avenue, Hagen Road, 3rd Avenue, Coombsville Road, Wild Horse Valley Road, 4th Avenue, Imola Avenue, then back into the City of Napa.  

The event is expected to have up to 250 participants, and no spectators are anticipated along the route.
