Parade, Chili Cook-Off, Wonderbread 5 Highlight Yountville Days

36th annual celebration is Oct. 4-5-6.

The 36th annual Yountville Days is coming up this weekend!

"Everyone is welcome and you don't have to "live" in Yountville to come and enjoy this annual event," said Samantha Holland, Yountville Parks and Recreaion Director.

The three-day celebration starts Friday night with a movie in the town park. "Wreck It Ralph" will show on the big screen at dusk. A dinner will precede the movie starting at 6 p.m.

Saturday's events start at 11 a.m. with the Sixth Annual Yountville Chili Cook-Off. Tasting bracelets are $10 per person.

The cook-off also includes options for beer, wine, Ben & Jerry's and live music by C4Inc. Teams registrations for the cook-off will be accepted through the end of the day today, Monday, Sept. 30.

Categories for teams now include "Restaurants/Hospitality Group" and "Wineries/Tasting Rooms," among many others.

Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off benefit the Yountville Youth Subsidy Fund, which helps children in need get access to resources like After School care, swimming lessons and sports.

Sunday is biggest day of the celebration and includes a parade starting at noon.

The parade theme is "Yountville ~ Past, Present and Future." It starts at the Veterans Home of California campus and winds into town, traveling north on Washington Street ending at Yountville Community Park, where the rest of the festival will be under way.

Parade marshal is local vintner Mike Grgich.

At the park will be an expanded children's area, food vendors, beer & wine, a  silent auction & raffle live music by Wonderbead 5 starting at 1 p.m. on the main stage.
