Napa Valley Silverado Races Are Sunday; Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Set

The Napa Valley Silverado Half Marathon, 10K and 5K will be Sunday --  April 6  -- from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Online registration is closed, however, race day registration will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at Calistoga High School, according to the organizers' web site.

The half marathon will start on Lake Street in Calistoga and will run along Silverado Trail to Crystal Springs Road, which will be the turn-around point, according to a traffic advisory issued Thursday by Napa County Public Works .

Parking for this event will be accommodated at the parking areas of Calistoga High and the Napa County Fairgrounds.

The event is estimated to attract up to 1,500 participants and 400 spectators. 

As a safety precaution, Silverado Trail from Hwy 29 in Calistoga to Crystal Springs Road will be closed to automobile traffic from 7:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.

Local traffic will be allowed with a CHP escort, according to the county department.

Race organizers ask that participants DO NOT park on the residential streets adjacent to the high school. "Parking is very limited for people that live in the area, so we ask that you respect their ability to park," they said.
