Napa Valley LGBTQ Pride Week Kicks Off Friday

A weeklong-plus celebration of "Napa Valley LGBTQ Pride 2013" starts tomorrow, Friday, and runs through June 23.

Events include dinners, dances, bowling, pizza parties and many more events.

There will also be a Napa Valley LBGTQ Pride Table set up at tonight's (Thursday's) Napa Chef's Market on First Street between Main and Franklin streets.

In addition, "Do Napa" banners will fly on downtown streets in an arrangement with local organizers who had earlier mounted an online petition drive to call for the city to fly the "Rainbow" Pride flag.

Pride week is part of June's monthlong observance of LGBTQ Pride. Shops, art galleries, wineries, restaurants and music venues in Napa Valley have all scheduled special events.
