Napa Red Cross Looking for "Real Hero" Nominees

Do you know a hero who has made a difference in your community?

Throughout Napa County there are seemingly ordinary people who have done extraordinary things. These heroes exemplify the Red Cross mission of ‘…preventing and alleviating human suffering…’ and may have helped save a life or performed an extraordinary act of compassion. 

Please help us honor local individuals and organizations in Napa County who have made a difference through their acts of courage, compassion and leadership.

Candidates who are chosen as Red Cross heroes will be formally honored at the Napa County Red Cross 5th Annual Real Heroes Breakfast at Silverado Country Club on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 8:30 am. 

The Napa County Red Cross invites you to nominate a hero who ha 

Saved a Human Life: An act of courage that resulted in a life saved; evidence must be included which proves that without this action by the nominee, a person would not have survived.

Saved a Human Life in the Line of Duty:  An act of courage by an individual or team of sworn first responders - such as firefighter, law enforcement or medical personnel – whose action were above and beyond the normal scope of duty which has resulted in saving the life of one or more people.  

Good Samaritan Act: Any act that was above and beyond the usual interaction between people that made a significant difference in the life of the person helped; example: stopping to help a person in great distress while others were not.

Environmental Good Samaritan: A single act or ongoing acts of heroism by an individual associated with protecting our environment.

Animal Rescue Hero: Service animals, family pets or other extraordinary interactions between animals and humans that resulted in the prevention of a tragedy or a life saved.

Criteria for Nominations:

·       The heroic act must have occurred in Napa County

·       The heroic act must have occurred between Oct. 31, 2012 and Nov. 1, 2013
