Napa Mom, Former Attorney Pens Book on Raising Happy Kids

Nancy Rose is author of the forthcoming "Raise the Child You've Got, Not the One You Want."

A Napa mom and self-proclaimed "Acceptance Advocate" is soon to be an author of a new child-rearing book.

Nancy Rose, a former attorney, has written, "Raise the Child You've Got, Not the One You Want."

The book, about how to accept children for who they are, is due out in October as an e-book or paperback on Amazon and other online retailers.

Rose, who has been working on the book for the last two years, said the model of acceptance came to her in her 20s when, "she awoke from what she calles the 'trance of accomplishment' when she realized she'd become a tax attorney and CPA so her mother would like her," according to her biography.

"She has spent the last 25 years studying the power of acceptance in parent-child relationships, while raising her two sons -- and as an author, speaker and parent coach," the bio states.

Rose's mission, she says, is "to make sure children receive the validation and guidance they need in order to become the best version of who they are, rather than who they think they should be in order to be loved."

An accomplished public speaker, Rose said she is available to give presentations on the topic of how parents can "lead with acceptance" in raising their children.
