The Napa County Democratic Central Committee and the Democrats of Napa Valley Club received good news on Thursday, May 8, 2014 when Superior Court Judge Elia Ortiz ruled in their favor on a defamation lawsuit against them by Joanne Gifford.
The judgment was entered at the end of Gifford’s presentation of her evidence upon the Court's finding of no evidence of slander.
Judge Ortiz ruled in favor of the Napa County Democratic Central Committee and its Chair, Mary Ann Mancuso as well as in favor of the Democrats of Napa Valley Club and its President, Conchita Marusich.
They were represented in court by attorneys, Malcolm Mackenzie and Charles Kuntz from the law offices of Coombs and Dunlap, LLP.
