Napa-Based Lucky Penny Launches Kickstarter Project
Online fundraising supports May production of "Funny Girl."
Napa-based Lucky Penny Productions has launched its first Kickstarter project, an effort to generate $5,500 toward the production costs for “Funny Girl.”
Kickstarter is a “crowd-funding platform for creative projects” that has seen $500 million pledged to more than 35,000 projects since its founding in 2009.
Another fundraiser takes place this Saturday March 23 at Silo’s as Lucky Penny presents a musical theater singing competition for youth titled “I’m the Greatest FUTURE Star!”
The event will feature 17 future stars aged 6 to 14 from around the North Bay, competing for prizes worth more than $100 to winners in two age groups. Tickets for the show are $20 in advance and are available at www.silosnapa.com or by calling 707-251-5833.
