Bay Bridge closure adds to massive traffic tie-ups.

Bumper- to-bumper traffic in all directions in Southern Napa County marked the beginning of the Labor Day weekend Friday afternoon.

Everything from cars, boats, trucks, motor homes and motorcycles were caught traffic jams in both directions on Highway 121, 116, 29 and 37 as travelers attempted to get a early jump to the three-day holiday weekend.

In additional to the usual holiday traffic through Napa, the closure of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge also contributed to the traffic nightmare with more people using the North Bay route for their holiday destinations.
