Costumed St. Helena Revelers Support Cameo Cinema

You could call it Costumes for the Cameo: The annual "Monster's Ball" party in St. Helena raised funds for the beloved Main Street single-screener cinema and Peggy Darnell was there with her camera.

The Native Sons Hall in St. Helena wore a costume of its own at the Cameo Cinema's Annual Monster's Ball last Saturday night - the Ghouley Greeter at the door welcoming the arrival of all the costumed  revelers into an incredibly spooky and  transformed Halloween den for an evening of freaky fun, fabulous food served by St. Helena's La Condesa with music playing and dancing  all night long, stopping only for the competition costume parade.

Cathy Buck, proprietor of the Cameo Cinema welcomed everyone and expressed much appreciation to the Ambassadors, her friendly supporters who help make her great ideas a reality.  In any case the spirited party goers, wearing interesting creative fashion (or not...) enjoyed an evening to remember!

And if you have a costume you're really proud of, why not

The Cameo is a great, cozy little theater. I remember going to see a re-release of The Passenger with Jack Nicholson there and it was one time showing on this particular night. A few guys sat in front of us expecting to see The Devil Wears Prada and instead got Jack out in the North African desert with almost no dialogue for 10 minutes at the start of the movie. That's about how long it took them to figure out that Meryl Streep wasn't going to be making an appearance in the movie.
