Napa Offers Tips on Holiday Recycling

The City of Napa along with Napa Recycling & Waste Services encourages an aggressive approach to recycling this holiday season.

Ready to trim the tree?  Consider LED lights to save energy. Don’t forget to buy rechargeable batteries and to look for items with recycled-content.

Once you’ve reduced your waste and saved money, recycle the rest.  Make sure you always pair up a recycling bin with every trash bin to capture as much recycling as possible at your party.

Done with that tree?  Your local Boy Scout Troops will be around on Saturday, January 4 to pick it up. Have your tree at the curb by 9am on that date. Got a new TV this year? The Napa Recycling & Composting Facility located at 820 Levitin Way accepts electronics free year-round.

What to do with all those batteries?  Check out the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Guide in the Napa phone book yellow pages under “recycling” or online at www.naparecycling.com for a complete list of drop off locations and for more waste reduction and year-round recycling information.
