NAPA EXECUTIVE OFFICER KEENE SIMONDS TO LEAVE FOR POSITION WITH MARIN LAFCO

Napa County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Executive Officer Keene Simonds has resigned, Chairman Brad Wagenknecht announced today. Mr. Simonds will assume the Executive Director duties with Marin LAFCO. His last day in Napa County will be Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.

 

Mr. Simonds joined Napa LAFCO as an analyst in January 2002 and was appointed Executive Officer in June 2006. Key agency accomplishments during Mr. Simonds’ tenure as Executive Officer include completing Napa LAFCO’s inaugural round of municipal service reviews and sphere of influence updates, as well as establishing policies and procedures to regulate outside service extensions. Napa LAFCO was named “Commission of the Year” by CALAFCO, the state association of LAFCOs, in 2009, and received high marks and commendations from the Legislative Analyst’s Office in 2012.

Napa LAFCO has scheduled a special meeting for Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, to review options with respect to appointing an Executive Officer. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
