Napa Civil Service Commis. Applications Open Until Jan.

 

Napa City Clerk is accepting applications from City of Napa residents for one seat on the Civil Service Commission. The filing period for the position will close on Jan. 8, with applicant interviews scheduled for Jan. 14.

The Civil Service Commission acts in an administrative capacity for the City Council on issues concerning personnel administration, classified service regulations, appeals by persons in the classified service regarding employment status or condition of employment, and provides recommendations to the City Council on salaries and new classifications in the classified service.

Two members are appointed by the City Council, two members are elected by classified employees, and one is appointed by the other four Civil Service Commission members.

This vacancy is for the member appointed by the Civil Service Commission members and is to serve a term effective the date appointed by the Civil Service Commission and ending June 30, 2016.

Civil Service Commission applicants must be City of Napa residents and registered voters.

The Civil Service Commission meets on the third Monday of each month. Meetings begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 955 School St., Napa.
