Meeting Set Wed. on New Boat Dock in Downtown Napa

The long-awaited new municipal boat dock in downtown Napa is scheduled for installation starting August 1, with completion expected in mid September. The new and larger dock in the Napa River will sit near Fourth and Main Streets, in the same area as the previous dock. The work plan for August involves removing old piers in the river, installation of sheet and pipe piles, dredging, and installation of concrete floats. Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While there are no direct impacts to traffic or parking, there will be noticeable noise, particularly during sheet pile and pipe pile installation.  Meanwhile, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission will hold a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 in the Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss the use policy for the new dock and the public is invited to give input on proposed uses.
