Edible Arts Dinner at Jessup Cellars Kicks-Off “Surrealism Decanted” Exhibition Featuring Celebrity Chef, Author & Artist Bob Blumer, AKA, The Surreal Gourmet

The June installment of the Jessup Cellars TasteMaker Speaker Series celebrates author, television personality and Chef Bob Blumer’s “surreal” career with a very surreal dinner on Friday, June 21st at the Jessup Cellars Tasting Gallery in Yountville, California from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. The interactive dinner will kick-off Blumer’s first-ever “Surreal Decanted” exhibition of his whimsical, wine-related objets d'art. Seating is limited. Tickets are $85 each and available at JessupCellars.com.

Blumer’s creative vision has been inspired by many events. He’s created mind-bending meals at the Salvador Dali Museum and toured the country in an Airstream trailer he converted into a rolling professional kitchen that resembled a giant Claus Ogdenberg-like toaster to promote his cookbook, Off the Eaten Path. Blumer’s has created and hosted 3 television series including Surreal Gourmet, Glutton for Punishment and World’s Weirdest Restaurants (as seen on the Food Network). Bob holds seven Guinness World Records in various culinary categories.

“Creating the 30 surreal wine glasses, decanters and assorted wine-related objects for the Jessup Cellars Gallery exhibition has been an exhilarating experience,” said Blumer. “And now I can't wait to share them with my fellow wine enthusiasts. I'm also thrilled to have the opportunity to present a special ‘surreal meal’ to kick off the exhibition. This much fun should be illegal…and probably is in Utah.”

Getting Surreal: Wining & Dining with Chef, Author & Artist Bob Blumer will be the only formal dinner during the 2013 TasteMaker Speaker Series. Set amongst his original pieces, Blumer will share behind-the-scenes stories from his career and demonstrate the culinary slight of hand he used to create the evening’s dishes. The dinner will be followed by a meet-and-greet and the opportunity to purchase personalized copies of Blumer’s cookbooks and Jessup Cellars wines. Ten percent of ticket and wine sales will benefit Arts Council Napa Valley.
