POLICE LOG: Couple Arrested After Fight

Napa Police arrest suspects.

A 22-year-old Napa woman and a 25-year-old American Canyon man were arrested Monday after police allege they were hitting each other in a fight in the vicinity of Adrian Street and Central Avenue in Napa.

Emily Marie Fahey was held on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury, while David James McCarthy was taken into custody on suspicion of resisting arrest and obstruction after the 2:37 p.m. incident.

Police said officers were dispatched to a report of an assault that occurred in the 800 Block of Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, David McCarthy and his girlfriend, Emily Fahey, were contacted.

Fahey confessed that they were in an argument and after McCarthy threw her cell phone, she picked it up and hit him in the back of the head with it, causing a laceration.

He started to walk away from her, but he was bleeding badly and his knees buckled and he fell to the ground.

McCarthy told the officers nothing happened and that he just fell. McCarthy also made statements making it clear he did not want Fahey arrested.

Fahey was taken into custody.  McCarthy became angry about the arrest and charged the arresting officer.

The officer deployed the Taser, striking McCarthy, at which time he was taken into custody. McCarthy was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.

McCarthy and Fahey were both booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 24 year old Napa man was arrested Monday on suspicion of shoplifting from Kohl's Department Store, giving false identification and probation violation.

Adrian Madrigal was taken into custody by Napa Police at about 5:30 p.m..

Police said officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Kohls.

Upon arrival, the suspect initially identified himself as Roberto Salcedo and decided to stick with that name through the investigation.

Loss prevention observed as the suspect selected $123 in clothing, removed the tags and left the store without paying. He did not have a means to pay for the merchandise and was arrested.

During the booking process at Napa County Department of Corrections, Madrigal gave his true name and officers learned he is on probation for a prior assault on a peace officer. Madrigal was booked.
