Getting To The Giants' Ticker Tape Parade

San Francisco will cheer the World Series sweep by the San Francisco Giants. How will you celebrate the victory?

San Francisco will hold a ticker tape parade and civic celebration in honor of the San Francisco Giants today, and if the occasion is anything like 2010, you're going to want to get there in ways other than your car.

The Giants swept the Tigers, winning the series in Game 4 in Detroit Sunday night with a 4-3 victory. It is the team's second World Series win in three years.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. at the foot of Market Street and continue to Civic Center Plaza.

To get there, use mass transit.

BART is expected to add longer trains to its route, as it did in 2010. From the Napa Valley, you can catch the VINE 29 express bus to the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station if you don't mind arriving early and making a day of it: The last connector will get you to the city by 9 a.m. and the first to leave El Cerrito in the afternoon departs at 4:13 p.m.
